so....why triathlon?
After doing a decent amount of cross country and playing hockey throughout childhood and high school. I started in Triathlon in 2011-12 when Devon convinced me to buy a road bike on eBay and enter the XOSIZE Tri series with him. After a season of short course racing Devon and I decided we would do a Half Ironman which I completed in Canberra at the end of 2012; It was agony, I tore my wetsuit pre swim, drank half of Lake Burley Griffin, had a panic attack mid swim, convinced myself I couldn’t take any nutrition in half way through the ride and bonked severely on the run. Somehow despite this I signed up for Geelong Half Ironman 3 months later.. The rest is history.

I AM A CHINESE MEDICINE PRACTITIONER AND OWN A NATURAL MEDICINE PRACTICE IN MORNINGTON.
THAT KEEPS ME PRETTY BUSY, ASIDE FROM THAT I LIKE WALKING MY BOSTON TERRIER HECTOR, PLAYING HOCKEY (WHEN IT FITS INTO MY TRIATHLON SEASON!), BINGE WATCHING TV SERIES AND EATING PARMA'S AROUND THE PENINSULA AND RATING THEM ON THE “BEST OF THE PARMINSULA” FACEBOOK GROUP. I'M ALSO A PRETTY PASSIONATE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB SUPPORTER.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
TRIATHLON IS A SPORT WHERE YOU DEFINITELY GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN. THAT BEING SAID, IT IS A PASSION AND HOBBY FOR ALL OF US SO IT NEEDS TO REMAIN FUN. TRAINING NEEDS TO BE SPECIFIC AND TAILORED INDIVIDUALLY WHILST STILL DELIVERING WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE COME RACE DAY.
ONE OF THE THINGS CLINTON ONCE SAID TO ME WAS “YOU DON'T SING A SONG TO GET TO THE END”. THE SAME GOES FOR TRIATHLON. YOU DON'T RACE JUST TO FINISH. SO IT'S IMPORTANT TO EMBRACE AND ENJOY THE WHOLE JOURNEY!.
